| These small to medium-sized parrots have become
well-established companion pets once the United States banned their
importation in the early 1990s. Hand-fed
Conures can be cute, playful and colorful...or all at once. They can range from the
brilliantly colored but non-talking Sun Conure to the sweet and
somewhat talkative Green Cheek or Maroon-Bellied Conure, which some
have described as the ideal small companion parrot. Although small in size, not all
Conures could be considered the best choice for apartment living; the
Green Cheek and Maroon-Bellied are not “noisy” per se, but the Sun,
Nanday and Patagonia are capable of producing a lot of Decibels from a
very compact package. Most
Conures’ personalities are quite suited for making a great companion
bird, and are intelligent and sensitive.
Jenday Conures (another Conure we offer) are a nice
combination of low noise, moderate talking ability, playfulness and
